Temple Shaari Emeth is gearing up to celebrate Purim. You can help make the holiday sweet by sending a PURIMGRAM to others. Sending a PURIMGRAM to a friend, family member, or neighbor is a sweet way to show you care.

Proceeds from each PURIMGRAM help fund the Toby and Seth Hanover Youth Scholarship Fund, which provides over $10,000 of scholarship each year to support sending our children to Jewish summer camps and educational programs. The importance of Jewish summer experiences in developing strong Jewish identities as adults is well-documented and a goal of the synagogue. It also helps our students make lasting memories and friends. What a deal!

This year's Shalach Manot will include a beautiful Purim Card and Hamantaschen.

By sending a Shalach Manot you can help give a child the summer experience of a lifetime!

Orders are due no later than March 10th. PURIMGRAMS will be delivered to recipients prior to Purim.

All Shabbat Services can be viewed in-person or our Facebook or YouTube pages.

Introducing...
the TSE Theater Troupe!

TSE is excited to announce the formation of our very own theater group, for kids  (fourth grade and up!) and adults!  Our first performance will take place in conjunction with the Shabbat service on May 3rd, in honor of Yom HaShoah.  This performance will be a compilation of scenes, monologues, and poem recitations, that center on the topic of the Holocaust.       

If you are interested in getting involved with the TSE Theater Troupe, or if you have any questions, please contact Allyson Descy at  asdescy@gmail.com .  If you would like to be a part of our first performance, please send an email to Allyson.

Come join us for services on March 15th as past participants of our Adult B’nai Mitzvah program share with us what their journeys meant to them

The Jewish people are known for many things, one of which is the many years of painful wandering from place to place in the absence of a land of our own. The old Jewish adage that, “kol hatkhalot kashot” – that all beginnings are challenging – is especially true for those beginning a new life in a new place. The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) has a storied history of assisting Jewish refugees and asylum seekers escape persecution and live without fear of repression. HIAS’s mission has expanded over the years to meet the needs of the moment and today offers assistance to refugees and asylum seekers of all backgrounds from around the world. Join us for Shabbat services on March 22nd as we welcome community member Lenny Glickman to speak to us about his own experience working for HIAS and its deep connection to Jewish values and tradition.

With great sadness we share that Colleen Siet passed away yesterday at the age of 96. She was the mother of Cantor Wayne Siet and Steven Siet, mother-in-law to Randee and Mary.  Colleen was the grandmother to Brian, Wendy, Jason, Jessica, Lauren, Joe, Mark, Blair and Joelle. She was the great-grandmother of Amanda, Joshua, Samantha, Chloe, Zachary, Mason, Travis, Bryce, A.J., Anne and Jack. 

The funeral will be on Friday in Illinois.

Cantor Siet will be sitting shiva at Temple Shaari Emeth on Sunday, February 25th from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:30-8:30pm with minyan at 7:00pm. 

Donations can be made to Hadassah.

With great sadness we share that Fred Feldman passed away January 25th. Fred was the husband of Ellen Feldman, brother of Carl Feldman and Susan Spiegel. He was the father of Robert, Helene and Gina, father-in-law to Liz, Jon and Stephen and grandfather to Amanda, Jessica, Jordan, Matthew, Alyssa, Aurora and Eva. 

The funeral will be on Sunday, January 28th at 11:00am at Jeffer & Harris, 111 Main Street, Matawan with interment at Beth Israel in Woodbridge. 

Shiva will be at Robert and Liz Feldman's home, 21 Walden Court, Old Bridge on Sunday after interment and Monday from 2:00-8:00pm with Minyan at 7:00pm.

Donations in Fred's memory can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation

With great sadness we share that Deborah Sinsky passed away. She was the mother of Jeff Sinsky, mother-in-law of Joanne and grandmother of Eric, Leanne and Jake. 

The funeral and Shiva took place in Baltimore.

If you want to say Kaddish in person and can't come to the service Friday night, you can join us on Saturday morning for the Bnai Mitzvah Service or the lay-led Minyan.

With great sadness we share that Philip Naidrich passed away on Tuesday, January 9th. Philip was the father of Lisa Lee, father-in-law of Christopher and grandfather to Samantha and Charley. 

Funeral will be Friday at 11am at Freeman's Funeral Home in Manalapan. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. 

Shiva will be at the home of Ronnie Naidrich, 20 Robin Lane, Monroe Township on Friday following interment. Shiva will be held on Saturday from 4-8pm with Minyan at 5pm. 

Donations in Philip's memory can be made to  St Jude Children's Research Hospital  or  Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Dept of Pediatrics
