During the year our students are taught what it means to do a mitzvah (a good deed), and what it means to give tzedakah (helping people or causes in need). Each Spring we highlight a special charity/organization and hold a special school wide, class participation, fundraiser to raise money for the organization.

This March, we will raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Association in support of two very special ELC staff members who have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Eileen Silverstein, our beloved 3s teacher was diagnosed over 20 years ago, and Jenna Potosky, our fantastic assistant to the Director, was diagnosed most recently in 2019. They both work hard to battle their illness every day, and they do so with a positive spirit. Jenna is very active in the Walk MS, where she and her “team” raise money to support this charity.

On March 17th the ELC will hold a Jump-A-Thon in support of Miss “S”, Miss Jenna, and the nearly one million people living with MS in the United States. The Multiple Sclerosis Association is a resource for the MS community, improving lives through vital services and support. All of the proceeds will go to the MSA.

All of our ELC students will take part in our jumping stations! Kids will enjoy jumping on bubble wrap, through hula-hoops, in a bounce house, over a "snake" and so much more!! You can donate on-line, click the link below, or write a check made payable to Temple Shaari Emeth and on the memo line write "ELC Jump-a-Thon".

Thank you for your support!
