I am excited and happy to share with you that after an extensive national search, Sheryn Cohen has been appointed as the new Director of Temple Shaari Emeth’s Early Leaning Center, effective July 1, 2019. Sheryn is currently the Co-Director of the ELC alongside Jayne Lieberman, and will assume the mantle of Director as Jayne retires.
The search committee, comprised of current and former ELC parents, educators, Board members, Rabbi Panken and myself unanimously concluded that Sheryn brought the right combination of knowledge, experience, energy and vision to the position. Ms. Cohen brings an innovative approach to pre-school education in the Early Learning Center. She is fully versed in the developmental milestones of each age group and encourages each child to meet those milestones through a creative and explorative curriculum.
Sheryn and her husband, Doug Cohen, have been members of Temple Shaari Emeth since 2007, and live in Manalapan with their daughters, Rachel and Alyssa. Sheryn has worked with the ELC, in various capacities, for nine years. In addition, she has been the Youth Advisor for YOSHE Seniors and Juniors. We are excited to be able to work with Sheryn in her new position as Director of the Early Learning Center.
I encourage all Temple Shaari Emeth members to recommend the ELC to friends and family. Guests are welcome to tour the Early Learning Center which serves children ages 6 months – 6 years. Classes begin with Parent & Me and continue through kindergarten. For more information, please contact Sheryn Cohen at scohen@shaariemeth.org or 732-462-3264.
Please join me in welcoming Sheryn to her new position and wishing her success. Sincerely,
