As you may have heard, the FBI, Newark Office, has published an alert about a "broad threat to synagogues in NJ". We do not have additional information about this threat; but are taking proactive measures to increase our security practices during this heightened state of alert.
We will have increased security at the Temple until the current threat is resolved and are working closely with the Manalapan Police Department, as well as our private security firm, which is staffed by current and former law enforcement officers. Through our relationship with the Jewish Federation we are also in contact with the Monmouth County Prosecutor, NJ Office of Homeland Security, the State Police, and the FBI.
All planned activities are continuing. We will keep you informed as new information is learned. Please do not post about this on social media.
When we finish reading a book of Torah we end with the words, "chazak, chazak v'nitchazek," be strong, be strong and let us strengthen one another. During these difficult times we will continue to be a source of strength to one another.
