I hope you all had a great weekend! I wanted to reach out and share some updates that are happening here at Temple Shaari Emeth.
Rabbi Panken is going to begin returning to work. She will continue to have Monday as her day off and will be holding office hours Tuesday through Thursday and will work from home, but available, on Friday. She will be leading Torah Study on Wednesdays for now and we will continue with lay leadership on Saturdays Torah Study. We will be seeing Rabbi start joining us sporadically at Friday night services but will not resume leading from the bema until March.
Thank you so much for all of your patience and understanding as Rabbi and her family take the time they need to sort out their affairs. Glenn has had some setbacks but he continues to be under excellent medical care. Please continue to keep Glenn and his family in your prayers.
The Cantor and Senior Staff, along with the Rock Shabbat Committee, have begun planning for an exciting Purim season. Please mark March 16th at 6:30pm on your calendar for a Rockin' Purim Celebration and Family Service featuring Billy Jonas and the Billy Jonas Band. We promise a real hootenanny! There will also be an early concert for younger children and those with special needs at 4:00pm.
I want to thank our Integration Committee chaired by Fabian Burstyn and Tmima Grinvald. Our two communities are melding nicely together. At over 700 families, our Board of Trustees has put together a Committee that is searching for an Assistant Rabbi who will begin in July. The Assistant Rabbi will be working closely with our clergy to identify and serve the needs of the community, build relationships with congregants, bring engaging programs and learning to all ages, and support and celebrate special moments with our Temple families. We are excited to have already interviewed several great candidates and look forward to bringing them to visit our community.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
